Workers Compensation EDI Applications
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) involves the computer-to-computer exchange of data between companies and Alabama.
What Is EDI?
EDI allows paper forms to be replaced by automated electronic transactions that are more efficient, leave less room for errors and virtually eliminates mailing costs.
What is a Trading Partner?
A trading partner (Sender) is a business entity who has established a relationship with Alabama Workers’ Compensation Division to electronically report claim data. This entity may be an Insurance Carrier (Insurer), Self-Insured, Third Party Administrator (TPA) or servicing agent/vendor.
Getting Started
Companies interested in using EDI to file First Reports should review the materials below and complete the partnership agreement packet. The signed partnership agreement should be mailed or faxed to LaDon Murray to begin the implementation process.
Workers Compensation Division acceptance of First Reports using EDI is contingent upon receipt of a properly completed Trading Partner Agreement packet, including a signed agreement, and successful testing. EDI Business Coordinator will issue a letter to all new partners upon successful implementation.
